School’s in but the heat is still out, Tuesday, Sept 4, students were not permitted outside between 7:00 and noon due to the heat. Temperatures reached a high of 95 degrees during the day. Practices for all sports were held inside; creating a chaotic environment where five on campus sports had to share two gyms, including the marching band. The different levels of each sport (freshman, junior varsity,] and varsity) complicates matter further.
“It has a domino effect with practice space, especially with the field sports. Including band” assistant director of student activities Cornell Williams said.
