The chess club held its first meeting on Sept. 24.

The club carried out some administrative tasks during the meeting, such as determining when to meet and whether any members were new to chess entirely, and ran a few instructional games with new members.

“We have a lot of great activities planned for this year,” club sponsor Jim Robinson said. “We’re planning some tournaments, and some open ones the whole school can take part in.”

The club is planning classes for later this year. The club meets regularly on Wednesdays after school.
