Spring and summer are marked by mosquitoes, mugginess—and something better: music festivals. While Washington, D.C. may not be the first city that springs to mind as a cultural hub, plenty of festivals take place nearby. Below, R&F walks you through our favorites.

Sweetlife, a food and music festival, will take place at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland on May 10. Popular singers and bands such as Lana Del Ray, Foster the People, Bombay Bicycle Club, 2Chainz and Bastille are scheduled to perform.

Firefly will take place from June 19-22, at the Woodlands of Dover International Speedway in Delaware. The Foo Fighters, Outkast, Imagine Dragons, The Lumineers and Arctic Monkeys are just a few of the many bands that will be onstage. Senior Delaney Conway will be attending the festival this year. She says she is “excited to experience four days of amazing live music.”

Warped Toursponsored by the brand Vans, will be hosted in Farm Bureau Live at Virginia Beach from June 13 to August 3. Bands and artists such as Mayday Parade, The Ready Set, We the Kings and three special guests will be performing, along with 50 other bands and solo artists. Sophomore Susan Shibut will be going to Warped Tour, and says that she is looking forward to “seeing all [her] favorite bands and spending time with other people who like the bands too.”
