For nearly 50 years, Rank & File has been the the premiere public forum for the Marshall High School community. Over the years, we have won numerous awards on the county, state and national level, yet it is important to recognize that there is always room for improvement.
In order to become a better public forum, the Rank & File would like to initiate a dialogue between the Marshall community and the newspaper staff. The only way to accomplish this is to make to sure that your questions and concerns are heard.
We would like to invite any interested teachers, administrators and students to a Rank & File roundtable discussion. The newspaper adviser, a selection of our editors and I will be on hand to discuss with participants any suggestions you have for the paper and to talk about the efforts we have made so far to better serve our school.
The roundtable will be an
opportunity to provide feedback to us on how we are doing and for us to share our mission for the paper.
Topics we hope to discuss include the accuracy and breadth of our coverage, future reporting opportunities and increasing external involvement in production of the newspaper.
The new “Letters to the Editor” sidebar is our latest effort to involve more of the community, a resource that we encourage you take advantage of.
Through this new dialogue we hope to create a publication that the community can truly be proud of, a publication that you look forward to reading each month and appreciate being covered in.
We look forward to this opportunity to interact with our readers. Listen for an announcement for the time and location of the discussion.
Sincerely,
Devon Maloney
