Lunch and Learn sets Marshall High School apart from other schools in the fact that this program encourages students to take the initiative to achieve their own personal goals at their own times. After being confined to classrooms and a structured environment in the morning, Lunch and Learn allows students in different grades, classes and social groups to not only spend time together, but to participate in clubs and activities that they may not be able to commit to attending after school hours. During Lunch and Learn, a person can spend their lunchtime doing something they enjoy such as drama, art or music, they can be getting homework done, or making up anything from a test to a gym class. I know that’s what I’d rather be doing than stuck in a cafeteria. Lunch and Learn is truly set up for students to succeed. It teaches us that we are responsible for our grades and ourselves, it gives us a valuable opportunity to reach out for help, and it encourages us to pursue clubs, activities and subjects that we enjoy.
